Sorry I didn't send the review on time (30.05.22)
Today I have read the article « Canadian Telescope Delivers Deepest-Ever Radio View of Cosmic Web ». In this article, I learned that several hundred million years after protons and electrons first joined together to form atoms after the Big Bang, there were no stars to illuminate all the hydrogen gas that filled the cosmos then. This gas was becoming denser in some places and more rarefied in others.
Telescopes must first scan the sky to select galaxies for inclusion in the survey, and subsequent redshift measurements of individual galaxies are usually time-consuming. Modern surveys also require expensive spectrometers with thousands of moving parts.

Today I have read the article "Vitamin D does not prevent type 2 diabetes in high-risk adults, trial finds".Daily vitamin D supplements do not seem to prevent the development of type 2 diabetes in people already at high risk of the condition finds a trial from Japan. Type 2 diabetes is a complex chronic disease that occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin or use it effectively.During this study, the researchers found no meaningful differences between groups in those who developed diabetes or whose blood sugar levels returned to normal. The conclusions of the study remained unclear, to draw accurate conclusions, researchers need to work further.

Today I have read the article "New vaccine type overcomes cancerous tumor defenses". A team of researchers has developed a new type of vaccine that helps the immune system destroy cancerous tumors by overcoming their defense system. Cancer is one of the most studied diseases of mankind. The new vaccine works by taking away one of the major defense strategies used by tumors, which has the ability to cleave T cells and natural killer cells from their surfaces. Researchers are currently in the process of developing clinical trials. For patients, this vaccine is a real chance to cure cancer.

Compounding pharmacy
A compounding pharmacy is a specific type of pharmacy. They can make customized medications for you, a family member, or even your pet. Some people and animals need medications that aren’t commercially available. A drug may be compounded for a patient who cannot be treated with an FDA-approved medication, such as a patient who has an allergy to a certain dye and needs a medication to be made without it. That’s where compounding pharmacies come in. Compounding pharmacies can make two types of compounds: sterile and non-sterile. Some pharmacies specialize in one type of compounding, whereas others may offer services for both.

https://vocaroo.com/1m5S672WaL5p

Today I have read the article "Chemists close in on greener way to make plastics". In recent years, chemists have devised bench-top reactors called electrochemical cells that aim to reverse the process, starting with water and waste CO2.
But that green vision has a practical problem: The cells often consume highly alkaline additives that themselves take energy to make.
Electrochemical cells, which operate like batteries in reverse, offer a greener alternative.
In contrast to batteries, which convert chemical energy into electricity, electrochemical cells feed electricity to catalysts that make chemicals.
As a result, the hydroxide must be continually replenished—and hydroxide itself takes energy to make, making the overall process an energy loser.
The tandem reactor no longer consumes hydroxide and has an FE of 65% for energy stored in ethylene produced by the device, the researchers reported last week in Joule.
The low energy prices mean that doubling of the overall energy efficiency of tandem electrochemical cells could make them cost competitive with the standard fossil fuel approach for.

Today I have read the article "Examining tiny cells surrounding the smallest blood vessels in the brain". This article was about the unusual tiny cells in the brain that surround blood vessels. They were discovered at a Swedish university, thanks to a super powerful microscope, for billions of crowns. These cells play a key role in scarring after brain damage, such as after a stroke. When these scars form, the brain tries to repair the damaged nerve fibers. To develop drugs to combat this, an important factor will likely be to prevent these cells from dividing and escaping through the walls of blood vessels. In my opinion, this article was interesting, it has long been known that the human brain has been studied very little, I am sure that these cells are not the last discovery in this area.

I have recently read an article “A glowing new prospect for self-reporting batteries”.It shows that monitoring the health of flow batteries in real time it is impossible. So, for solving such problem, researches from Argonne designed a fluorescent molecule for the purpose. But there is a problem again each tank needs a different redoxmer: one that is positively charged and one that is negatively charged and it isn’t compact. Developing and deploying the batteries with fluid which contain supporting electrolytes will be able to have the ability to monitor their performance in real time and in ways that go far. And finally if it is succeeded than we will open the way for similar self-reporting capabilities across other state-of-health metrics.https://voca.ro/1cTwrUjdN99v

Today I’ve read the article “New type of extremely reactive substance in the atmosphere”. For the first time, an entirely new class of super-reactive chemical compounds has been discovered under atmospheric conditions. Researchers from the University of Copenhagen, in close collaboration with international colleagues, have documented the formation of so-called trioxides - an extremely oxidizing chemical compound that likely affects both human health and our global climate.
A commonly known chemical compound is hydrogen peroxide. All peroxides have two oxygen atoms attached to each other, making them highly reactive and often flammable and explosive.
In recent years, there has been speculation as to whether trioxides -- chemical compounds with three oxygen atoms attached to each other, and thereby even more reactive than the peroxides -- are found in the atmosphere as well. But until now, it has never been unequivocally proven.

Title: Mild Combustion of Methane-Derived Fuel Mixtures: Natural Gas and Biogas
The article discusses an innovative incineration process that can significantly reduce pollutant emissions compared to traditional incineration processes. The work used a laboratory burner to study the soft combustion of two fuel mixtures consisting mainly of methane: natural gas and biogas. Studies have shown that soft combustion can be used effectively for a variety of low BTU fuels, but can also reduce soot and PAH emissions. These studies can be applied to reduce emissions from the combustion of a mixture of natural gas and biogas.

Title: Analysis of flue gas emission data from fluidized bed combustion using self-organizing maps
The article presents a model of the combustion process from a self-organizing map. The map is constructed using a k-means algorithm to create subsets representing different states of the process. These process states may include high and low load situations and transient states when the load is increased or decreased. Then emission models were constructed for both the entire process and for the process state of high boiler load.
The presented method can be used for an effective method for diagnosing processes and offers new possibilities for the analysis of process emissions in the near future.

Today I have read the article "Scientists make plastic more degradable under UV light". The article deals with a new way of plastic decomposition. Many biodegradable plastics are only composted in industrial settings. But scientists have been able to find a way to decompose plastic in the natural environment. They thought they could tune the degradability of a plastic by incorporating varying numbers of sugar molecules into the polymer. Inclusion of just three percent of the sugar polymer units in the plastic results in 40 percent degradation within six hours of exposure to ultraviolet light. I believe that this method of decomposition will only benefit and preserve environmental friendliness.

Today I have read the article "A candlelight-like glow from a flexible organic LED". The article tells about the development of a new organic LED. As you know, candles create a pleasant light that is ideal for the eyes and a relaxing evening. However, for example, electronic candles emit blue waves that are undesirable for the body. Therefore, scientists decided to create a new organic light-emitting diode. Calculations have shown that exposure to an LED for 1.5 hours inhibits melatonin production in humans by about 1.6%, while light from a cold white compact fluorescent lamp suppresses melatonin production by 29%. I believe that these LEDs will benefit the world because of their safety.

Today I have read the article «Scientists make plastic more degradable under UV light» that tells us about a way to destroy plastic using only ultraviolet radiation. PLA, made from lactic acid, has limited biodegradability. Scientists have developed a way that could make these plastics more degradable in the natural environment. They can tweak the degradability of the plastic by incorporating different amounts of sugar molecules into the polymer. They found that incorporating as little as three percent sugar polymer units into PLA led to 40% degradation within six hours of exposure to UV light. Factor Inhibiting Hypoxia Inducible Factor (FIH) has an important role in the response to low oxygen (hypoxia) in animals. ASPP2 is involved in several aspects of cancer biology, including the regulation of cell polarity/adhesion and the transcriptional activity of the tumor suppressor protein p53. The team of scientists uncovered the ability of FIH to add hydroxyl groups to both asparagine residues within the "VNVN" motif present in ASPP proteins. I really liked the article and I will wait for its continuation.

Today I have read the article "Wax worm saliva contains enzymes capable of breaking down plastics".
It's about the wax worm's saliva, which breaks down plastic. It is a discovery with numerous applications for the treatment or recycling of plastic waste. In order for the plastic to decompose, oxygen must penetrate the polymer. This is the first step in oxidation, which is usually the result of exposure to sunlight or high temperatures, and is the bottleneck that slows down the degradation of plastics such as polyethylene, one of the most stable polymers. The aim is to guarantee oxidation and thus allow the micro-organisms to have some effect on the plastic.

It's about a nanoscale structure formed by sets of molecules called a double gyroid. This shape is one of the most desired by materials scientists; but still a predictable understanding of how these forms are formed. There are also double gyroids, they exist in nature and have been observed for a long time, but so far no one has figured out how chain molecules known as block copolymers can form double gyroids. Because copolymers must stretch to occupy each part of the self-assembled structure, understanding this formation requires knowledge of how molecules "measure the middle" of shapes such as gyroids, which are much more complex than spheres and cylinders.

Today I’ve read the article “How a soil microbe could rev up artificial photosynthesis”.Plants rely on a process called carbon fixation -- turning carbon dioxide from the air into carbon-rich biomolecules - for their very existence. That's the whole point of photosynthesis, and a cornerstone of the vast interlocking system that cycles carbon through plants, animals, microbes and the atmosphere to sustain life on Earth.
But the carbon fixing champs are not plants, but soil bacteria. Some bacterial enzymes carry out a key step in carbon fixation 20 times faster than plant enzymes do, and figuring out how they do this could help scientists develop forms of artificial photosynthesis to convert the greenhouse gas into fuels, fertilizers, antibiotics and other products.

You can get acquainted with this material in more detail by clicking on the link.

Today I have read the article «The hydroxylation of ASPP2 and other ankyrin repeat domain proteins» that tells us about the hydroxylation of ankyrin repeat domain proteins.

Florinsky Dmitry XT-211 (Andreikova) (Wednesday, 25 May 2022 08:55)

There are so many plastic waste in nowadays. Everybody heard about plastic pollution and danger from this process. But everybody do nothing for decide this problem. Now, researchers reporting in ACS’ JACS Au have combined a ruthenium-carbon catalyst and mild, lower-energy reaction conditions to convert plastics used in bottles and other packaging into fuels and chemical feedstock. Polyolefin polymers are the most common plastics used in these products because the polymers’ molecular structures — long, straight chains of carbon and hydrogen atoms — make materials very durable. It’s difficult to degrade the carbon-to-carbon bonds in polyolefins, however, so energy-intensive procedures using high temperatures, from 800 to 1400 F, or strong chemicals are needed to break down and recycle them. The researchers developed a method to react simple hydrocarbon chains with hydrogen in the presence of noble- or transition-metal nanoparticles under mild conditions. In their experiments, ruthenium-carbon nanoparticles converted over 90% of the hydrocarbons into shorter compounds at 392 F.
This research will help our children not to clean the planet after us.

Today I have read the article "Scientists use quantum computers to simulate quantum materials". This article tells about the so-called new quantum computers that could run quantum simulations. While simulations have for a long time been done on traditional computers, quantum computers might be able to solve problems that even the most powerful traditional computers today can't tackle. Reaching that target remains to be seen, as researchers around the work continue the effort to build and use quantum computers. In my opinion, this article was interesting, Quantum computers have long been science fiction, the appearance of which scientists predicted, finally we have something similar.

Today I have read the article "Electrolysis: Chemists have discovered how to produce better electrodes." As temperatures increased, the researchers observed the expected changes to the individual particles under the electron microscope.
These particles were converted to nickel oxide, grew together to form larger structures and, at very high temperatures, formed patterns reminiscent of zebra crossings.
However, electrochemical testing surprisingly showed a constantly high activity level of the particles, which should have no longer been usable in the electrolysis.
"We therefore attribute the high level of activity of our much larger particles to an effect that, surprisingly, only occurs at high temperatures: the formation of active oxide defects on the particles," says Bron.
Using X-ray crystallography, the researchers discovered how the crystal structure of the hydroxide particles changes as temperatures increase.
They concluded that when heated to 900 degrees C, a point at which the particles exhibit the highest level of activity, the defects undergo a transitioning process that is completed at 1,000 degrees C.

We directly determine the majority carrier type in single-wall carbon nanohorns for the first time by means of thermopower measurements. Using this direct method, we show that SWCNH films exhibit a positive Seebeck coefficient indicating that SWCNHs behave as p-type semiconductors. This result is further corroborated by intentionally tuning the hole or electron concentrations of SWCNH layers via redox doping with molecular electron acceptors and donors, respectively.I have found this article helpful.

The fabricated device, called a "catalytic condenser," is the first to demonstrate that alternative materials that are electronically modified to provide new properties can yield faster, more efficient chemical processing. The invention opens the door for new catalytic technologies using non-precious metal catalysts for important applications such as storing renewable energy, making renewable fuels, and manufacturing sustainable materials.

ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE
Engineering is the application of science to the optimum conversion of the resources of nature to the uses of humankind.
The term engineering is sometimes more loosely defined, especially in Great Britain, as the manufacture or assembly of engines, machine tools, and machine parts.
Engineers employ two types of natural resources—materials and energy.
Engineers apply scientific principles to design or develop structures, equipment, or processes.
Engineering encompasses several disciplinesEngineering and the development of new technologies are closely tied to science.
We use many technologies in scientific studies, and scientific knowledge helps engineers do their jobs and build new technologies.

Today I have read in the article “A cool chemical separation technology”. Gas and liquid separation processes in the chemical industry could be made more efficient and environmentally friendly by using substances known as intrinsically porous materials (IPMs).
KAUST researchers review the prospects for IPMs in the journal Accounts of Chemical Research.
"We focus on making materials that will have an impact on the chemical and petrochemical industries in Saudi Arabia and the world," says Niveen Khashab, the corresponding author of the review.
"Through the review, we identified some IPMs with impressive performance," says Gengwu Zhang, a postdoc in Niveen Khashab's team.
He explains that these IPMs, like other porous materials being developed, could save 70 to 90 percent of the energy costs of existing technologies, with consequent environmental advantages.
A key advantage of IPMs over many other porous materials is their stability and ability to maintain their porous properties in the solid, liquid, gas or solution states.

All-solid-state batteries, which use a solid electrolyte instead of a liquid electrolyte found in traditional batteries, not only meet these standards but are comparatively safer and more convenient as they have the possibility to charge in a short time. Today I’ve read the article “Scientists devise method to prevent deadly hospital infections without antibiotics”.The biggest culprits, experts say - accounting for two-thirds of these infections - are medical devices like catheters, stents, heart valves and pacemakers, whose surfaces often become covered with harmful bacterial films. But a novel surface treatment developed by a UCLA-led team of scientists could help improve the safety of these devices and ease the economic burden on the health care system.
The new approach, tested in both laboratory and clinical settings, involves depositing a thin layer of what is known as zwitterionic material on the surface of a device and permanently binding that layer to the underlying substrate using ultraviolet light irradiation. The resulting barrier prevents bacteria and other potentially harmful organic materials from adhering to the surface and causing infection.

TITLE: Improvement of the control system over drum boilers for burning combustible artificial gases
The paper considers the possibility of using artificial gases as fuel instead of natural gas for power drum boilers. Calculations have shown that one of the main limiting factors for the use of cheap fuel without significant modernization of power equipment is the capacity of the regulatory body. The introduction of a gas compressor into the circuit leads to the need to modify a typical ACS of a thermal load. The solution to the problem is achieved by increasing the gas pressure in the gas pipeline using a compressor.
This development can be used to control the performance of boilers that operate in both basic and variable modes.

Today I have read the article «Novel zeolites-silver catalyst boosts formaldehyde oxidation at low temperatures» that tells us about the development of a dual-functional zeolite-silver catalyst that can enhance the oxidation of formaldehyde at low temperatures. Theoretical calculations and experimental results showed the activity of formaldehyde oxidation was influenced by the separation between the two components in bifunctional catalyst The Ag component would inevitably adsorb unreacted formaldehyde molecules and thereby led to lower methyl formate oxidation activity when the two components were packed too close. The article was very informative and I look forward to continuing.

Today I have read the article «Improved method to make branched polymers» that tells us about improved method to make branched polymers. This method of creating polymers through mechanical experiments and computer simulations will become more efficient. Scientists want to mimic some biosystems that have very precise structures. A big part of the work's success came from optimizing the method for converting monomers, the small molecules that make up polymers. With the scalable process developed, the lab is now looking for applications for these unique materials, perhaps starting with water filtration. I will wait for news on this topic.

I have read the article that Google says 20% of workers will be remote, many more hybrid. In my opinion, that Google is experimenting with time when and where staff will be working, is correct. I think that, if you want to your company work more effectively, you will have to do that they love their work. When the staff has more time to solve themselves problems and have normal rest, they will be working better, despite less time for work.

Children spoke by skype without sounds. The children were asked to convey the content of a picture to another child. And after and pictures became very complex, they began to invent their own sign language. After 30 minutes of experiment they had base sign language.
I think that it`s very interesting cuz scientists can study evolution of languages without high cost.

But I want to tell you more about what I learned about antiviral pills, what kinds they are and their effectiveness. Two emergency antiviral drugs that can be taken at home in pill form have recently been approved for emergency use: Paxlovid from Pfizer and molnupiravir from Merck and Ridgeback Biotherapy. Paxlovid reduced the risk of hospitalization or death by 89 percent, and Molnupiravir reduced that suffering by 30 percent compared with placebo pills. Antiviral pills are also scarce and are also a priority for the highest-risk outpatients. Lithium Ion Elements and the Chemical Composition You Need to Know

The basic building block of batteries that power everything from consumer electronics to electric vehicles is the lithium-ion cell.

Lithium-ion cells are generally not separate parts. They are connected in series and in parallel to form a final assembly called a battery. But for each battery, the cell selected determines the life and performance of the entire battery. Cell performance determines the size, weight, voltage, current, wattage, and environmental performance of the final battery.

I read this article today and it described the element of lithium ion well.

Today I’ve read the article “Chemists achieve breakthrough in the production of three-dimensional molecular structures”. A major goal of organic and medicinal chemistry in recent decades has been the rapid synthesis of three-dimensional molecules for the development of new drugs.
Houk have now succeeded in converting several classes of flat nitrogen-containing molecules into the desired three-dimensional structures.
"Just as plants use light in photosynthesis to synthesize sugar molecules from the simple building blocks carbon dioxide and water, we use light-mediated energy transfer to produce complex, three-dimensional target molecules from flat basic structures.
The novel, unconventional structural motifs presented by the team in the "Science" paper will significantly expand the range of molecules that medicinal chemists can consider in their search for new drugs: for example, basic building blocks containing nitrogen and highly relevant to pharmaceuticals, such as quinolines, which have been scarcely used owing to selectivity and reactivity problems. As a specialist, this discovery will help me in the future to invent and produce quality drugs.

TITLE: An efficient combustion concept for low calorific gases
The article discusses the problem of developing an efficient and flexible combustion system that can solve the problems of combustion of gases with a low calorific value and emissions of harmful substances into the environment, such as CO and NOx. Gaswärme-Institut e. V. Essen has developed a progressive combustion system based on the concept of continuous air cascading. Experimental results have confirmed the efficient operation and high potential of the burner for the use of low calorific gases.
The developed combustion system can be used in the development of an automated control system for gas combustion with a low calorific value.

Today I have read the article «Biomedical polymers: Synthesis, properties, and applications» that tell us about diverse tasks of biomedical polymers such as drug delivery, disease detection/diagnosis, biosensing, regenerative medicine, and disease treatment. Biomedical polymers have been extensively applied to carry out disease theranostics, either as vehicles for delivering both therapeutic and diagnostic agents or as self-theranostic agents, owing to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, structural diversity, and multifunctionality. A group of Chinese professors are discussing the foreseeable challenges and outlook of the development of more efficient, healthier and safer biomedical polymers. I will wait for news on this topic.

Today I have read the article «A computer system that analyzes chemical waste and proposes ways to make new products from it» that tell us about a computer system that can analyze a sample of chemical waste and create the routes to synthesize new, useful chemicals.
As the researchers note, the chemical industry generates an enormous amount of waste—manufacture of products like pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and fertilizers produces waste products consisting of a large number of molecules. Chemists have long sought what they describe as "circular chemistry"—where the waste created by one process is used as base material to create other products. Using a computer program, they developed a system capable of generating the pathways needed to synthesize approximately 300 drugs currently used in medicine, such as carvedilol and salbutamol, from waste products containing more than 200 compounds. I will wait for news on this topic.

Today I have read the article “ AI Sommelier Generates Wine Reviews without Ever Opening a Bottle “. I learned that an international team of researchers has developed an artificial intelligence algorithm capable of writing reviews of wine and beer. Their approach could even be extended to reviews of other "experimental" products, such as coffee or cars. We already live in a world shaped by algorithms, from Spotify recommendations to search engine results to traffic lights. "The best thing we can do is to proceed with caution," Zhao says. Today I have read the article "Catalytic synthesis of phenols with nitrous oxide".
The article tells about the gas that makes a significant contribution to global warming. It's nitrous oxide, also known as "laughing gas". Nitrous oxide has a global warming potential about 300 times greater than that of carbon dioxide, and is known to be an ozone depleting agent. As a result of human activities, nitrous oxide emissions have increased by 2% in recent decades. However, this molecule is too valuable to release into the atmosphere, as it is a good source of an oxygen atom. It can be obtained by reacting nitrous oxide with a simple catalyst under mild conditions to produce phenols, valuable industrial compounds. I liked this article and I advise you to read it to get a lot of useful information.

Today I have read the article "New electrocatalysts herald carbon neutrality". The article deals with catalysts, their abilities and applications.
Researchers from the University of Adelaide are working on the catalysts. They are developing catalysts that can be "customized" for different purposes. In this case, we are talking about electrocatalysts that can increase the rate of oxidation and reduction reactions in an electrochemical cell. They benefit from high atomic utilization—how efficiently materials are used in a reaction, which helps lower the cost of energy production and conversion applications. I think that further advances in the research of electrocatalysts can contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions.

Soft way of processing,
plastic used in bottles

Global production of durable single-use plastic for toys, sterile medical packaging and food and beverage containers is increasing. Polyolefin polymers such as polyethylene and polypropylene are the most common plastics used in these products because the molecular structures of the polymers - long straight chains of carbon and hydrogen atoms - make the materials very strong. However, it is difficult to break carbon-carbon bonds in polyolefins, so breaking and processing them requires energy-intensive procedures using high temperatures, from 800 to 1400 F, or harsh chemicals. Previous research has shown that noble metals such as zirconium, platinum and ruthenium can catalyze the process of splitting short simple hydrocarbon chains and complex ones.
I believe that many people are thinking about this problem. I hope that they will find a solution to the problem with elastic and how to transform it into simpler substances.

The drones have the automatic navigation systems, which allows them to build maps on the go and without delays, which affects the speed of passage of an unknown forest and without hindrance, without crashing into any trees, walls, etc., to reach their destination or simply explore the forest, spending the minimum amount of time. The drone's neural network learned to fly by watching a sort of "simulated expert"—an algorithm that flew a computer-generated drone through a simulated environment full of complex obstacles and that is very cool.

In order to do this, they developed a new way of deriving energy demand from basic services rather than from economic growth, so that energy for poverty eradication could be separated from those for affluence. The results showed that the energy needs to provide a decent standard of living for all in the selected countries were well below their current national energy consumption. As for me, this article interesting and I recommend it to read.

TITLE: Characterization of PV panel and global optimization of its model parameters using genetic algorithm.
This paper details an improved modeling technique for a photovoltaic (PV) module; utilizing the optimization ability of a genetic algorithm, with different parameters of the PV module being computed via this approach. The global optimization of the parameters and the applicability for the entire range of the solar radiation and a wide range of temperatures are achievable via this approach. The results of the simulation are compared with the Data Sheet information, which is obtained via experimentation in order to validate the reliability of the approach. Three types of PV modules, using different technologies, are tested for the purpose of this validation, and the results confirm the accuracy and reliability of the approach developed in this study.

TITLE: Parameter extraction of solar photovoltaic modules using penalty-based differential evolution
This paper proposes a penalty based differential evolution (P-DE) for extracting the parameters of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules at different environmental conditions. The two diode model of a solar cell is used as the basis for the extraction problem. The analyses carried out using synthetic current–voltage (I–V) data set showed that the proposed P-DE outperforms other Evolutionary Algorithm methods, namely the simulated annealing (SA), genetic algorithm (GA), and particle swarm optimization (PSO). P-DE consistently converges to the global optimum values very rapidly. The performances are evaluated using the well known quality test and student T-tests. Furthermore, the P-DE extraction method is practically validated by six solar modules of different types.

TITLE: Experimental Study of Biogas–Hydrogen Mixtures Combustion in Conventional Natural Gas Systems
The article examines the combustion of a mixture of biogas with hydrogen. The combustion of biogas is extremely difficult to use in standard gas equipment, as it has a low calorific value. Its low calorific value and adverse effects of CO2 increase the instability of the flame and, consequently, reduce the quality of combustion. The use of hydrogen as an additive to biogas has a positive effect on the stability of the flame and gorenje characteristics. This study can be used to develop a gas combustion control system with a low calorific value.

TITLE: Combustion Characteristics of Low-Calorific-Value Gaseous Fuels in Small Gas Engine
The article discusses the development of a small gas engine running on gaseous fuels obtained from biomass. Experimental studies of the combustion characteristics of gaseous fuels with a low calorific value were carried out. Diluted fuel exhibits longer combustion times and lower thermal efficiency. When using fuels with a low calorific value, a stoichiometric premix must be used and used under high load conditions. Fuels containing H2 provide stable engine operation and higher thermal efficiency with shorter combustion times. These studies can be applied to regulate the heat output of the boiler, which is operated on gaseous hydrocarbon fuel.

Today I have read the article «New enzyme discovery is another leap towards beating plastic waste» which tells about another step towards ridding the Earth of plastic waste. They have characterized an enzyme that has the remarkable capacity to help break down terephthalate (TPA), one of the chemical building blocks of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, which is used to make single-use drinks bottles, clothing and carpets. University of Portsmouth researchers have developed a natural enzyme that can break down PET plastic. With more than 400 million tons of plastic waste produced each year, the overwhelming majority of which ends up in landfills, it is hoped this work will open the door to improve bacterial enzymes This will  help tackle the challenge of plastic pollution and develop biological systems that can convert waste plastic into valuable products.  I really enjoyed this article and look forward to continuing this research.

Today I have read the article «Better recycling required to remove potentially harmful chemicals from bottled drinks, new study warns» which tells about the discovery of 150 chemicals that leached into drinks from plastic bottles. So-called food contact chemicals (FCC) are commonly found in packaged food and drink, with most considered perfectly safe in low concentrations. However, research shows that drinks bottled using recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) can contain higher concentrations of FCCs than drinks bottled using new virgin PET, suggesting problems with the recycling process may be leading to some bottled drinks being contaminated. To reduce the number of chemicals found in bottled drinks, the study suggests using a technology known as the "super cleaning process," a three-stage process to clean old plastics before recycling—a high-temperature wash, a gas wash, and a chemical wash. I really enjoyed this article and look forward to continuing this research.

Today I have read the article "Physicists develop ideal testing conditions of solar cells for space applications".
The article tells about creating conditions for the use of solar panels in space. Perovskites can help create these conditions. Perovskites are a material used in solar cells, which are devices that convert light into electrical energy. They are highly resistant to radiation, which suggests they can be used to power space satellites and spacecraft. Atmospheric conditions, moisture and air destroy this material, but it showed radiation that is solid and suitable for space.I think that with the right use of this material, the expected results can be achieved.

Today I have read the article "Using electricity to create compounds for pharmaceuticals, other chemicals". The article tells about the use of electricity in pharmaceuticals and chemistry. In a new study published in the journal Science, researchers have used electricity to develop a tool that could make it easier and cheaper to produce compounds used in pharmaceuticals and other natural products. Others, from Ohio State University, sought to create a catalyst that would be activated by electricity to form bonds of target drug compounds. Electricity is environmentally sustainable, which encourages the use of electrochemistry to stimulate chemical compounds. I believe that the use of electricity in chemistry and pharmaceuticals will contribute to great success in these areas.

Florinsky Dmitry XT-211 (Andreikova) (Wednesday, 04 May 2022 08:44)

Good morning, today I have read about email and stress due to speaking by email.
Because of coronavirus a lot of people started remote work, and speaking via chats and email. And there is interesting research published by the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, suggests impolite emails can have a negative effect on work responsibilities, productivity etc. There are active and passive rudeness. Active rudeness directed directly to the interlocutor. Passive rudeness more humane than active, because passive rudeness is something like ignore. But it hard to detect because your interlocutor could forget about your email. To mitigate this stress, the researchers urge employees to "psychologically detach" from a stressful workday after receiving rude emails. The best option is to unplug from work after-hours. Whenever possible, managers also should set clear and reasonable expectations regarding email communications.
I don`t know about stress due to rudeness because I don`t care what others think about me, but I think for somebody there are very useful advices.

Chemists are moving towards a greener way to make plastics
Plastics are a climate problem. The production of precursors for common plastics such as ethylene and carbon monoxide (CO) consumes fossil fuels and emits large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO 2). In recent years, chemists have invented benchtop reactors called electrochemical cells, which aim to reverse the process by starting with water and waste CO 2 from industrial processes and using renewable electricity to turn them into raw materials for plastics. But this green vision has a practical problem: cells often consume highly alkaline supplements that require energy to produce.

“It was a very difficult scientific problem,” says Peidong Yang, a chemist at the University of California, Berkeley. Now his team and a second group are reporting successes in solving the alkalinity problem. One enhancement links the two electrochemical cells in tandem to completely circumvent the problem, while the other turns into an enzyme-like catalyst to generate the desired chemical without consuming alkaline additives. The plastics industry is not about to ditch fossil fuels in favor of CO 2 and renewable electricity, but "this area is gaining momentum," says Feng Jiao, an electrochemist at the University of Delaware, Newark.

Exam Topic
Three primary disciplines of Pharmacy
The field of Pharmacy can generally be divided into three primary disciplines: Pharmaceutics, Medicinal chemistry and Pharmacognosy, Pharmacy practice. The boundaries between these disciplines and with other sciences, are not always clear-cut; and often, collaborative teams from various disciplines research together.Pharmacology is sometimes considered a fourth discipline of pharmacy. Although pharmacology is essential to the study of pharmacy, it is not specific to pharmacy. There are various specialties of pharmacy practice. Specialization in pharmacy practice is typically based on the place of practice or practice roles including: community, hospital, clinical pharmacy, consultant, locum, drug information, regulatory affairs, industry, and academia.

Today I have read the article "Driving water splitting to create chemical fuels". It tells about development of the conservation of solar energy and its use as needed. In particular, about the production of hydrogen using the sun.
The technology itself is not very hard: a special substance absorbs light and converts it into electricity, which is needed to decompose water into hydrogen and oxygen. Actually, researchers of this topic are striving for such simplicity and efficiency. But in terms of efficiency, there were problems, because not all substances are suitable for this innovation, however, this problem was fixed.
Researchers are struggling to solve the remaining shortcomings. According to them, there is still a lot of research to be done, but they do not lose hope that one day their work will be useful.

Today I have read the article " Western Wildfires Reverse U.S. Clean Air Gains ".
I learned that there has been an increase in pollutants from wildfires in the Pacific Northwest. Western forests are becoming drier as the climate changes, causing larger plumes of smoke to move eastward across the United States each year. Wildfire emissions have increased so substantially that they are changing the annual air quality pattern across North America.
Reducing the health impacts of future August smoke plumes "will require a concerted effort to combat climate change as well as fire management in the Pacific Northwest."
The article is very interesting, I recommend reading it.

Today I have read the article "A Single Gene in One Species Can Cause Other Species to Go Extinct".
This article is about the role of species.
Some species play an outsize role in the environment they inhabit. For example, otters in kelp forests eat enough sea urchins so that the kelp can grow without being gobbled up first. These so-called keystone species hold their ecosystem together.
In a study researchers have demonstrated the existence of what they call a “keystone gene.”
This article is newsworthy, because the discovery may have implications for how scientists think about the ways ecosystems, and the species in them, persist over time.

Summary
Today I have read the article "Scientists discover genomic key to plateau adaptation". This article was about how an unusual species of snake was able to adapt to the critical temperatures and pressures of hot springs while remaining healthy. The species of these snakes is called Thermophis. The study found 27 unique amino acid replacements in 27 proteins of Thermophis. These mutations were predicted to impact function in the three species of Thermophis. The study of the DNA of these snakes is strongly advancing scientists towards finding a cure for human high altitude sickness.
In my opinion, this article was ordinary, finding a cure for diseases using the DNA of other living beings is a common occurrence.

Today I have read the article "X-Ray tomography lets researchers watch solid-state batteries charge, discharg". Using X-ray tomography, a research team has observed the internal evolution of the materials inside solid-state lithium batteries as they were charged and discharged.
Detailed three-dimensional information from the research could help improve the reliability and performance of the batteries, which use solid materials to replace the flammable liquid electrolytes in existing lithium-ion batteries.
"We were able to understand exactly how and where voids form at the interface, and then relate that to battery performance.
The lithium-ion batteries now in widespread use for everything from mobile electronics to electric vehicles rely on a liquid electrolyte to carry ions back and forth between electrodes within the battery during charge and discharge cycles.
"We did this imaging while we were charging and discharging the batteries to visualize how things were changing inside the batteries as they operated.

100% renewable method of ammonia production.

Ammonia has supported humanity since the early 20th century, but its production leaves a huge carbon footprint. Now researchers have found a way to make it fully renewable.

Chemical engineers at UNSW in Sydney and the University of Sydney have found a way to produce green ammonia from air, water and renewable electricity that does not require the high temperatures, high pressure, and huge infrastructure currently required to produce this important compound.

And the new production method, demonstrated in laboratory tests of the concept, could also play a role in the global transition to a hydrogen economy, where ammonia is increasingly seen as a solution to the problem of storing and transporting hydrogen energy.
